!±8± Chicago Airport Transportation - Travel Options For Parking and Rides

What transportation services does Chicago Airport have to offer?

There are number of ways in which travellers can get to and from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. In this article we will look at the Chicago Airport Transportation services that are available. The airport is located just 17 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. It is accessible by local mass transit lines, regional trains and buses as well by downtown and surburban shuttles and the interstate highways. Most of the transportation services at Chicago Airport are in areas located at the main entrances to each terminal.

The transportation services that are provided at Chicago Airport are as follows:

1. Airport Shuttles

2. Airport Transit System

3. Regional Buses

4. Rental Cars

5. Taxi Cabs

Let's now look specifically at 2 services of transportation that are available at O'Hare International Airport.

1. Blue Line

This service consists of a 19.5 mile trunk line which is part of the Chicago Transit Authority's rapid transit system. It extends from the Airport through downtown via the Milwaukee Dearborn Congress Subway and then across the West Side with its 2 branches. The Southwest end one is to Forest Park (Congress) and the other leads to Cicero (Douglas). This is the CTA's second busiest rail line with more than 119,700 passengers traveling on it each weekday. Trains are scheduled to depart from the O'Hare terminal roughly every 7-8 minutes on a weekday and it takes about 40 minutes to travel to Chicago's Loop.

The terminal was opened in 1984 as an extension of the Blue Line from its former terminal at Jefferson Park. It was built to a design by the architectural firm Murphy/Jahn.

2. Ground Transportation Services

There are a number of different companies in the Chicago area that offer a reliable transportation service O'Hare and Midway Airports plus to areas of Chicago.

They provide the following kinds of services:-

1. Will provide door to door transport to both business and residential locations.

2. They will also offer a door to door service to many of the hotels that are based in and around Chicago.

When looking for Chicago Airport Transportation keep in mind you have a variety of options to explore.

How to Save Money on Philadelphia Airport Parking Fees

!±8± How to Save Money on Philadelphia Airport Parking Fees

Parking at the Philadelphia International Airport can be an adventure in itself. Travelers need to be aware of parking fees and how to get the best deals.

If you just go to the airport thinking you will find a cheap place to park, think again. The parking lots are sitting there just waiting for you to turn up unaware of prices and policies.

The worst example we found was parking your car at any on-site parking lot at Philadelphia International Airport. All of the Philadelphia on-site lots are owned by the city of Phila. and run by companies for them. The city sets the price it wants people to pay when they either pre-book a space or just turn up at one of the parking lots.

One way to save money is to park at one of the privately run remote airport parking lots near PHL, and there are many of them. These are often cheaper than the airports own long-term parking lots, and online discounts can make parking at one of these facilities even cheaper.

Drivers often avoid the private airport parking lots, thinking it will take extra time to transfer to and from the airport. But many of these private parking lots are also a shuttle ride away from the terminal. And at busier airports, such as Philadelphia and New York's JFK, the long-term parking lot is often full, which means you could spend half an hour looking for a space before searching for a remote parking lot anyway.

Another good alternative is to find a hotel in the area of the airport which has a secured parking facility and free shuttle service 24 hours a day.

One of the best Hotels in the Philadelphia area offering this service is the Philadelphia Airport Ramada's Park and Jet, which is located just 2 miles from the airport and offers free shuttle service to and from your car 24 hours a day, 7 day a week.

When you return from your trip, you just pick-up one of the direct phone lines in the airport and they will come pick you up.

They also have a coupon on their website and they also offer Park Sleep Fly package deals where you stay overnight and fly out in the morning. So, the moral of the story is to do your research in advance of your trip, compare prices and get the best deal online.
